Installation

Installation Information – Australia

Please read this carefully before buying or installing any of our products. This information is general only and does not replace advice from a licensed plumber or electrician. It is your responsibility, and your installer’s responsibility, to make sure the installation complies with Australian laws and local regulations.

Who must install

Anything that connects to your home’s water supply must be installed by a licensed plumber in Australia. This includes bidet seats, handheld bidet sprays, bidet attachments, T-valves, hoses and any fittings that join into the toilet water line.
Where electrical work is required, a licensed electrician must carry out the electrical connection.
We do not provide installation services and we do not supervise or control any installation work. All installation work is carried out by independent tradespeople engaged by you.

WaterMark certified bidet seats

Our WaterMark certified bidet seats are approved for use in Australia when installed correctly. A licensed plumber must install them in accordance with:
Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3500
The Plumbing Code of Australia
Any applicable state or territory plumbing laws
The installation instructions supplied with the product

In many cases, if the spray outlet of the seat sits at least 25 mm above the overflow level of the toilet pan, additional high-hazard backflow protection is not required. Your plumber is responsible for checking this and ensuring that the installation is safe and compliant.

Non-WaterMark bidet sprays and bidet attachments

Some of our products, such as handheld bidet sprays and certain mechanical attachments, are not WaterMark certified.
Australian plumbing rules generally treat these products as higher risk because the hose or outlet can be moved below the pan rim or into the bowl. Because of this, licensed plumbers may be required to install additional backflow prevention devices, or they may decide not to install these products at all, depending on local regulations and the specific site conditions.
We cannot and do not guarantee that non-WaterMark products can be legally installed in every home or in every Australian state or territory.
If you are considering a non-WaterMark spray or attachment, you should speak with a licensed plumber before purchase to confirm whether it can be installed at your property in a compliant way.

Installation at customer and installer’s risk

For non-WaterMark products, the decision to install, and the method of installation, are entirely at the customer’s and installer’s own risk. By purchasing and installing a non-WaterMark product, you and your installer accept responsibility for:
Checking and complying with local plumbing rules and backflow requirements
Deciding whether any additional devices are needed
Deciding whether the product is suitable for the intended use

Conor Australia does not provide compliance approvals for non-WaterMark products and does not accept responsibility if a product is installed in a way that does not comply with local law or regulation.

Responsibility for installation and property damage

All plumbing and electrical work is the responsibility of the licensed tradesperson performing the work and the property owner. We do not control how products are installed, what fittings are used, how the plumbing system is configured, or how the site is managed.

Conor Australia Pty Ltd is not responsible or liable for:
Leaks, drips or seepage from any fitting, hose, valve or joint
Water damage or flooding in any part of the property
Burst hoses or failed fittings
Damage to walls, floors, ceilings, cabinetry, fixtures or finishes
Mould, dampness or moisture damage
Plumbing faults, water pressure issues or backflow incidents
Any costs of repair, reinstatement, cleaning or insurance excess
Any fines or penalties for non-compliant plumbing work
Any indirect, consequential or financial loss

Any claim for water or property damage must be pursued with the installer’s public liability insurer or the property owner’s building or contents insurer, not with Conor Australia.

What the warranty covers and does not cover

Our warranty is intended to cover defects in the product itself, such as a genuine manufacturing or material fault under normal residential use.

The warranty does not cover:
Installation errors or poor workmanship
Use of incorrect, incompatible or low-quality hoses, fittings or valves
Incorrect water pressure or lack of pressure control
Damage caused when installing, removing or re-installing the product
Any form of leak, flooding or water escape from the plumbing system
Any damage to property, building structure or finishes
Any issue arising from the installation or use of non-WaterMark products where local rules require WaterMark certification

For full details, you should read our Warranty Policy and Terms and Conditions. Where there is any inconsistency, the Warranty Policy and Terms and Conditions will apply.

Simple summary

A licensed plumber must install anything that connects to your toilet water line, and a licensed electrician must perform any required electrical work.
WaterMark bidet seats are designed for Australian homes and can be installed when the plumber confirms that all relevant standards and backflow requirements are met.
Non-WWaterMark sprays and attachments are higher risk under Australian plumbing rules. Some plumbers may require extra devices, and some may refuse to install them. Compliance decisions for these products are made by the plumber and the property owner, not by Conor Australia.
We do not take responsibility for installation decisions, plumbing compliance, leaks, flooding or any damage to property. Our responsibility is limited to the product itself, as set out in our Warranty Policy and Terms and Conditions, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
